Life Star Landing

Mon. Feb 1st 2010

At approximately 0505 hours, the Derby Fire Department responded to Ryan Field for the landing of Life star. Engine 16 along with Engines 11 and 14 established a safe landing area and FD-9 transported the Life Star Crew to and from Griffin Hospital to transfer a patient to Hartford Hospital. Crews remained on scene for approximately 1 hour. While awaiting the crew's return, department members toured the helicopter and discussed procedures with the pilot.
