On Wednesday, March 10, at approximately 0230 hours, Engine 16 responded along with Engines 11, 13, and 14, Truck 15, Rescue 18, 4K9 to a reported structure fire at 196 Derby Ave.  First arriving members reported heavy smoke from second floor.  Command immediately called for RIT and mutual aid for air truck and man power.  members found a victim trapped on the second floor and transported the victim to Griffin Hospital.  Ansonia and Shelton Fire Departments, Echo Hose Ambulance and ARMS assisted on scene.  Members had the fire under control in approximately 35 minutes and remained on scene for about two and a half hours performing over haul.
