On Sunday, September 7, 2008, Friends and members of the Derby fire department gathered to take part in the 60 mile charity motorcycle ride to raise funds for CT Firefighters, CT Law Enforcement, and two local United Ways. The ride started in Norwalk, passing through 11 towns, ending in Bridgeport Seaside Park.  Throughout the 60 mile ride, local Fire Department’s suspended American Flags over the Route. This is the first year that Derby FD and Shelton FD had the opportunity to take part in the event. The Paugassett Hook and Ladder and Echo Hose Hook and Ladder partnered in raising an American flag on Route 111 in Trumbull.
